To Hyderabad......with love

Posted by Sandeep...

Hyderabad mera jaan...mera shan

I love hyderabad...people reading this sentence might just imagine, what the heck is wrong with this guy...why is
he making such a redundant statement....well let me tell u guyz something, abt an year back i would have said I hate
Hyderabad!! there are numerous reasons...i had numerous reasons to complain...phrases like "L*** K*** ki sense ledu",
"Ba*****s ki eppatiki budhi radu" used to frequent my mouth. Used to always argue with my mom that hyderabad is the
worst place to be at and all.....but AUgust 13th 2006, I was driving past the hussain sagar...the same place that
used to stink....the same place which i thought was too poluted, seemed so pleasent and mesmerising...the mere
thought that i was gonna miss the necklace road for abt an year or even more made me pensive and nostalgic.
14 th august 2006..I was near the airport, all set to fly off to New York..the most happening city in the world.
I somehow felt that quitely behind my parents...friends and relatives, some one else was wishing me a bon voyage....
.....it was my darling city Hyderabad.

A few months later, one fine evening some one from my room comments that hyderabad is hydera'bad'. Suddenly a feeling
of possesivenes came up in me...i started arguing...started debating(well the arguement was way too violent to be
called a debate) with that guy, trying to prove the point that Hyderabad is the best place on earth. A couple more
guyz joined him in arguing that hyderabad isnt the best place..their statement was a blunt" emundi ra hyderabad lo"
..donno why but that particular statement got the fire in me burning...i knew they were wrong...i knew i was right,
but arguing with 3 people is not a mean job...but i was...they were making some valid points and i was dispelling
them with a lot of vigour. Time and again i used my trumpcard IT and CYBER TOWERS to ward them off from cornering me
And yes..the point that i am good at statistics really helped me. But as I was arguing a thought constantly came
across my mind..."why was i fighting for a place which i hated so much till some months back??" I kept that question
aside and fought..er..argued. The arguement went on for a good 2 and half hours...and ultimately, as always..I won!!
It is easy to win a cricket match, as there are set rules and winning is a defined event in cricket, but it is not
so in a debate..making a person contradict his own statement or retract from his own thought isnt a task of ease.
I had won several such debates earlier...several to list..The previous night itself i had won over them in the topic
that had me supporting CBN and them supporting YSR, but still..this victory was very sweet.By the time the arguement
was over it was around 3 am...so we had just one thing on our mind...sleep.

But that night as I lay on my bed...a thought constantly crossed over my mind and prevented me from sleeping..."why
did I fight for hyderabad???" Then started the real battle....the debate in my own self...i started to prove and
counter prove my own points.I started to analyze hyderabad as a true Hyderabadi....it's flaws and strengths...
Hyderabad is a growing city...or rather it is a booming city..it has manpower, technology and everything
and thanks to CBN it has become extremely presentable...any person who wants to set up a company wants a place that
is peaceful, resourseful and fertile in terms of technology, and hyderabad has all these three components in ample
measures. The development rate of hyderabad across the past 10 years is well past the adjective splendid...in fact
it is scintillating. I have been to places, quite a number of places...i have seen a good part of south India..
U go to CH**** and say " arey bhai AN** ***** kaise ja saktey hain" and he would give u a wicked grin and walk away,
he would under no chance speak with u in hindi. U go to another place called B****** and ask him the same question..
well not the same though...u ask him abt some place there...and he would give an innocent look and try to understand
what u r spking...its not his fault, the awareness of hindi in that particluar place is bad..similar situation can be
observed in K*****. why am i telling u all this....well go to anyplace in hyderabad and ask him arey bhai charminar
kaisey ja saktey hain...and he would direct u for sure...This is what is required for setting up a corporate
warehouse...u need accepting people..Why is hyderabad snatching up oppurtunities from B*****, it is not just because of
the infrastructural opurtunities provided by the govt. such small issues which a commoner would leave unsighted
work a lot up for a city.

I used to curse the roads of Hyderabad for their traffic jams and all..but not any more...i have seen places now
and i sure do know what a traffic jam means. I used to abuse the MCh parking ticket collectors for their parking
charges...but the fact that parking in manhattan costs around 30 $ shook the living daylights out of me.
Chal chal re chal mere saathi....hum ban gaye hyderabadi....i loved this song a lot...just for the sake of its
melody..never cared to listen and understand the lyrics...once in NY..humming the song became my habit. Every day
my computer starts up with that song and shuts down after the song "pedavey palikina" from nani.
Then my anaysis lead me to the conclusion that I never hated hyderabad....It was just that i wanted it to be even
better...rather the best.
I have my life associated with hyderabad...My parents..my friends...my childhood,my adolsence and a good part of my
youth. I have memories uncomparable...I have memories of secret lake..the place we used to call our 'ADDA'..the
place where we used to have some of the most avid convesations of our life...the beautiful biryani of Hyderabad
house...the superb rides on necklace road...the pani puri at Juiblee hills chat bandi...the cricket matches behind
TV's hse..the short pitch matches on LAL's rooftop...those long drives on cars...frequent visits to Coffee day....
those discussions on sam's rooftop...shopping sprees at central....movie carnival at prasad's...and last but not
least...st. alphonsa's H.S....Gowtham jnr college and yes ultimately...VNRVJIET...maaannnn....that was life...
if only i could get on a time machine and get back to those days...those beautiful days...
What am i doing here man??....living ? no way...how can i??
.......when i have left my life thousands of miles away.....

STALWARTZ

pretty cool guy..dosent let someone get into his confort zone quickly, but once he gets close to someone, he would do anything for them. A peferct leo personality.. a person who meets him for the first time may nevea feel comfortable but once ur taken into his confidence he will be ur best friend u could ever have. He is a bit domintaing but we bet for the first time in ur life u enjoy being dominated and in rela words he will be very careful with his emotions and will neva hurt u. silence is his language with strangers.

very composed and reserved. A scatterbrain and a chatterbox he is not. Don't expect this man to bare his soul when he first meets you. He can be so courtly, courteous, and considerate, you half expect him to ask you to dance the Virginia Reel. There's no question that he's a romantic dreamer, yet he's so sensible and practical. Hes true to him¬self. His nature never deviates from its basic mold, despite the changes of expression that play on his features. Yet, at other times he can be as funny as an orangutan with the hiccups. No wonder you don't know whether to give him a cold shoulder or a warm hug.

the pulling leg...center o target. Keeping up with him may be tiring, but keep up you'd better. has a way of leaving the snails behind and not glancing back. He'll probably look and act younger than springtime, which is all very delightful, but his youthful aura may carry over into his mental and emotional attitudes until he's matured, which won't be early in life.:) He doesn't talk much right away? He's not openly exuberant and pushy? Yes, I know one, too. But take my word for it, if you could see inside that hard head, you would discover that his brain is spinning at approximately two hundred revolutions per second.

this guy is so very lovable that he can be called the ultimate loverboy...pakka time pass candidate..but u cant just brand him like that..for he is tooo intelligent.. and the best thing is that he neva tries to shower his intellectual genious on people..he dosent try to show off..for if he does that mere mortals like we would be drowned in his verbal and linguistic prowess!!!it would be an understatement to say that out intermediate days are some of the most memorable days in our life....and the credit goes to people like free(thats what we all call him)..raki..and vammy....life takes some things away from u and gives them back to u with bonus..thats what we believe...preetam coming back to us is one such example...we as stalwartz were almost perfect...almost...we were missing some more key people..one of them was free...now that he is back into us..we just rock

When Gray wrote the lines about a flower "born to blush unseen and waste its sweetness on the desert air," he certainly wasn't describing rakesh. You might see this man basking in the bright sunlight, and you may find him making flowery speeches, but it won't be in the solitude of the desert. Most likely it will be on a stage or in front of a circle of adoring friends and relatives. He may waste money, but he's not about to waste his sweetness in the empty air. There will always be an audience. Inside, his passions are as red hot as that stove you burned your hand on when you were three or four years old and getting into things out of your reach. This man may also be out of reach. He's sizzling underneath his deceptively controlled manner. Don't touch. Ever jovial n funny. He makes me laugh even wen hes angry.

Naturally, he's optimistic. There's always that day when a rock is a rock and tinfoil is tin¬foil, but he recovers quickly from such crushing blows. He's lucky. He discriminates against dishonesty, but that's about all, which is why he has so many friends and well-wishers. He looks beyond the external appearance of people for a truer, more intrinsic value. Not that he doesn't have enemies. People who have been stung by his frank remarks may glare at him and feel like strangling him, but they usually come around to realizing his harmless intent. He rocks dude !!! :D

STALWARTZ

can be as cranky as a crocodile with poison ivy, and his habit of rationalizing everything, including love, will drive you to frenzy-or leave you limp with defeat. If you try to run, he'll persuade you to stay with such logical, intelli¬gent arguments you couldn't hope to top them unless you graduated from Harvard Law School. In addition to using his unmatched reasoning powers on you, he'll turn so sweet and gentle you'll forget the frustrating inconsistencies of his nature that upset you before. Then he'll smile at you and something will happen inside. This man is usually so lucky it's disgusting and illegal. He could go prospecting in the hills, bring back a bag of rocks, find out they're not gold, cry awhile, then discover they're uranium. If you pick up that shiny object at your feet near the subway grating, it will be a piece of tinfoil from an old chewing gum wrap¬per. If he picks it up, it will be a chip from the Hope Diamond Harry Winston dropped when he was hailing a cab.

T宵ñ

STALWARTZ

oh sorry guruji...thats what we all call him..he is a true guru when it comes to jokes...as every great person has critics constantly criticizing him.. our tarun too has his critics who say most of his jokes stink...but we dont agree...we say all his jokes stink!!!! just kidding...the 1st thing that strikes anyone who comes across him is his ease in handling people and his high competetive spirit, especially when it comes to sports, and we must say he plays every sport with equal ease, interest and elan'. He is the ideal confidant for all ur thoughts and ponderings....U r the best thing to have happened to our group ra..because every one dosent come into the world with a wand in his hand which can make people laugh and forget their worries....be like u r...now..today...always...

ur 1st impression when u look at this guy is....'ultra coool'...and he is infact every word of that.A perfect example of class and etiquette in our gang. One thing that i always wanna learn from him is his ease in handling people and his smoooth attitude. Another lovely thing in him is the inimitable way in which he tranforms from class to mass...starts of with his standard dialogue.." Entantee raaaa....."and ends up with....."..kodakaaaaa". ha ha ha.Another megastar fan in our gang...very passionate abt movies and watches almost all the movies that release....and sometimes even those goddammed english movies that are dubbed into telugu. we just love pulling his leg and do that day and night..He is the fun factor of our grp...
